Chamber Music Society Fairfield presents the second concert on its series of 3 Concerts for Winds on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 7:30 p.m. at ICON Gallery, 58 N Main Street in Fairfield.
The Sorcerers Double Reed Quartet from Iowa City will perform some sparkling and intriguing music by Australian, German and Midwestern composers.
They will be performing a “Serenata” composed by Graham Powning (Australia); a thoughtful “Life’s Suite” written by Greg Morton (Iowa); “Wild Garden” by Jerry Owen (also from Iowa); “Four Western Songs” by Robert Sibbing (Illinois); “Time is vicious (if you take it for granted)” commissioned by and written for the The Double Reed Ensemble of Iowa by Scott L. Miller (Minnesota); a grand “Pastoral Quartet” by Friedrich Gustav Lange (Norway/Germany), and a spright “Bacchette di fuoco” by Iowan Stuart Breczinski.
