COMEDY

The trees lining there along the way
once cast a most delightful shade,
but that was many years ago.
Although all gone forever now,
I know their image will not fade
from all who still recall those days.
The sun would shimmer on their crowns;
a breeze would sway their branches there;
I loved their tall, receding row.
The way is very quiet now
and full of open space to share,
from where so many birds have flown.
