The Language of the Future
If ever I adopt a poetic agenda,
it will be of ever-evolving language—
that intangible, human phenomenon that has
carved out history, rivers, poems, God;
and points with you and me
Such an agenda will simply reunite
the builders and inhabitants of
all language past and present. One language,
more fluent than rivers we know, will
manifest, maturing in time
The language of the future will flow
with newfound ideas all our own, and
thus will we speak and sing as one. I’ll
keep my wit vibrant, making sure my
every word surges to touch
