Sharalyn Harris Pliler, Narrator, Poet
Sharalyn Pliler graduated from MIU in 1979 with a philosophy major, and in 1987 with a Master's in Professional Writing. For ten years, she earned her living as a professional writer, specializing in public relations. Besides writing freelance for various trade journals, newsletters, books and pamphlets, she was a staff writer for In-Joplin! magazine for two years, editor for Builder/Achitect Magazine, and author of numerous other freelance projects, including articles for Horizon Air, Teleconnect Magzine, Unity, and The Phoenix. Her poetry has been published in the Christian Science Monitor, the Wittenberg Door, and Northwest Review and various other publications. She has often done dramatic readings of prose and poetry and considers one of her most enjoyable experiences to be the receiving of a standing ovation from several hundred people for a poetry reading on a cruise ship. Her most recent work is THE RELUCTANT VEGETARIAN COOKBOOK, released in July, 2009. She lives in Fairfield.
