Chamber Music Society Fairfield presents an outstanding chamber music concert by Red Cedar Chamber Music from Marion, IA on Saturday, September, 6, 2008, 7:30 PM. Location: ICON Gallery, 58 North Main Street, Fairfield, IA
They will play (mostly) classical music by Jewish composers ranging from the haunting sounds of Klezmer folk music to lush harmonies of 20th century classical music.
You will hear music by Mendelssohn, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Gideon Klein, Gershwin, and Nico Richter (who dictated a trio for flute, viola and violin from his deathbed shortly after being liberated from a German concentation camp).
This program is funded, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts, the James & Norma Jean Rosborough Foundation and the Alliant Energy Foundation.
