The Poetry of Trees Flowers and Forests

The Poetry of Trees Flowers & Forests

Trees, flowers & forests are the subject of the Candlelight Reading Series' upcoming poetry reading this Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Revelations, upstairs. We'll start at 8:00 PM.

“I never saw a discontented tree,” John Muir, the famous American preservationist, writer and founder of the Sierra Club wrote.

For many of us, trees, flowers and anything plant like seem to exist in some rather vague and remote place in our awareness, and we tend to take them entirely for granted. In reality, they have much to tell us. Freddy Niagara Fonseca, assisted by Deborah Roberts, Alexandra Ulmer and Rolf Erickson will recite some quite meaningful selections on the subject for you.

You will also hear the winner(s) of the poetry contest on Trees, Flowers & Forests for Fairfield writers.

The winners are Melinda Arndt and Raven Garland. Alexandra Ulmer canceled.
