This month’s Candlelight Reading Series subject is Narrative Poetry & Haiku. Long, song-like narrative poetry is a perfect counterpart to the sometimes audacious sparkle of short poems like haiku.
Karen Carter and Freddy Niagara Fonseca will bring these two facets of poetry to life, reciting for you with musical accompaniment by Nathanael Zumstein on the viola on Saturday, March 31, 2007, 8:00 PM at Revelations upstairs, Fairfield, Iowa.
On the program are poems by Stanley Kunitz, Whitman, Frost, Poe, Robert Service, Freddy, Octavio Paz, Basho, Emily Dickinson, Vachel Lindsay and a host of haiku, some quite humorous. Everyone is invited.
