Food? or Poetry??

Food? Poetry? Do they mix? Yes, in the Candlelight Reading Series, a monthly staple on the Fairfield cultural scene, everything is possible!

Come, stop by for the yearly poetry social “Food, or Poetry” on Saturday, November 24, 2007, 8:00 PM, at Revelations Bookstore & Cafe in the big meeting room upstairs, 112 North Main, Fairfield, Iowa. Freddy Niagara Fonseca and Raven Garland (formerly Karen Carter) will host this extra-ordinary event with scrumptious finger foods and poems exclusively celebrating food.

Formal attire is encouraged, but we are not adamant about it. Just show up. After every four/five poems, some delicious tidbits and pizza from the fabulous Revelations kitchen will be served. Please register early so we can get an idea how much to prepare.

In addition to this, there will be a food poetry contest for Fairfield writers. Send in ONE original poem about food by November 22 to freddypoetry@mac.com and if you win, you can come in for free and you’ll be invited to recite your poem at the event.

Admission is $5 RSVP before Nov 24 at the counter at Revelations, or $7 at the door. You may also call Revelations at 472-6733. If you come on time, you will be able to taste everything that's going to be served!
