Poetry & Transcendence
POETRY & TRANSCENDENCE
The Candlelight Reading Series and M.U.M. Student Activities present “Poetry & Transcendence,” a poetry reading event with music and eurythmy (an intriguing movement art form originated by Rudolf Steiner) on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006, 8 PM at the M.U.M. Student Union Theatre.
Nynke Passi, literature teacher at M.U.M., who is conducting a course named “Poetry & Transcendence” during the month of September, has invited Freddy Niagara Fonseca, the series’ founder, to organize a reading on the same subject.
The transcendental overtones of poetry are wellknown and acknowledged by every school or stream of poetry. There exists a wealth of poetry that is either explicitly or implicitly transcendental while having a solid foundation in everyday life. A carefully selected program reflecting transcendence in action experienced through poetic language will be presented for your enjoyment.
Freddy will be ably assisted by co-reader Cakau Valls, Nynke herself, and Karen Carter, eurythmist with piano accompaniment by Nathanael Zumstein.
Admission $5. Students and faculty $2.
