Shakespeare is Coming to Town!
An exquisite night of Shakespearean sonnets and four essential scenes from Romeo and Juliet with music and dances of the Elizabethan era performed on stage will be presented as a benefit for the Iowa Conservatory Theatre by the Candlelight Reading Series, Freddy Niagara Fonseca, founder, and Jennie Lee on Friday, March 18 and Sunday, March 20, 2005 at 8 PM at the Iowa Conservatory Theater, 1900 W. Stone in Fairfield.
The fascination with Shakespeare never ends. The incisive language and universal themes have moved people for centuries, and are still relevant today. Actors Morgan Lee and Constance Brenneman will be portraying Romeo and Juliet. Shana Cordon will play Mercutio, and Kendall Wells will play Tybalt, as well as choreograph the staged fight scenes.
This event promises to be a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the evocative gifts of Shakespeare and the Elizabethan era, while helping to keep a beautiful Fairfield theatre alive. Minimum donation of $8 at the door, and all proceeds go to support the Iowa Conservatory Theatre. Mark your calendar, come and enjoy!
